Back 9

A very competitive Back 9 with only two points separating the first five players at the finish.

At Arthurs Seat Thomas Dunbar (12), Garth Wilson (10) and Robert Artt (10) were vying for the lead a point ahead of William Crawford (14). David Currie (6) was another two pomts behind. Through Beechers Wilson, after a run of bogey and two pars, was leading by one point but being hard pressed by Dunbar (birdie, bogey, double bogey) for the leadership. Crawford (bogey, birdie, double bogey) and Artt (three bogeys) were another point behind followed by Currie (two pars and a bogey) a further three points back. In a tense finish Wilson came home par, bogey, bogey and was joined by Dunbar with a par and two bogeys and first place went to Dunbar with a better last three. A point behind there was another exciting finish for third place between Crawford (par and two double bogeys) and Artt (par, bogey, par) with Crawford taking third place with a better last six and Artt in fourth place. An improving Currie with a birdie and two pars finished a point behind the placings.

Malachy Wylie (1) won the Gross with 20 gr/pts (BL3).

Twos were recorded by – D.Rankin (x2), I.Alexander, D.Stirling jnr.,M.Bellew, G.Kernohan, G.McCooke, P.McMullan, T.Carroll, A.Murray, T.Fleming, G.Martin, W.Crawford and G.Wilkins.

 

Front 9

Brian Maybin, playing off three, set the early pace over the first three holes with a birdie, par, birdie to lead by three points from Aaron Pattison (7), Kenneth Gregg (8), Michael Burton (8) and Alan Montgomery (3). Trevor Todd (9) was a further point behind. Maybin continued to lead through Broadmeadows after recording two pars and a double bogey. Pattison closed to within a point of the leader after a bogey and two pars. Gregg (bogey, par, bogey), Burton (double bogey and two pars) and Todd (bogey, par. bogey) were another point behind. Montgomery (bogey and two pars) was a further point back. Pattison continued his good run and finished with two pars and a birdie at Longlands to win by two points from Gregg (bogey, par, birdie) and Maybin ('ding', bogey, eagle three at Longlands) who finished together. Gregg with a better last six came second with Maybin third. A point behind the placings came Todd (bogey, double bogey, birdie), Burton (par. bogey, par) and Montgomery (two pars and a birdie). 

The Gross was won by Alan Montgomery (3) with 18 gr/pts.
