Mark McClenaghan playing with an eighteen handicap was the clear OVERALL WINNER of the Carnroe Supplies sponsored Castle Trophy Stableford competition by three points over the RUNNER UP Jonny M cIlroy playing off a handicap of eleven.

Division 1

Through Longlands Robbie Sutherland (2) was leading by two points from Mark Dunlop (3). Jordan Dembinski (5) and Patrick Dallat (-5) were another point behind with Aaron Brown (3) a further point down. At the Devils Elbow Dunlop had closed to within one point of Sutherland. Dallat was another point behind followed by Dembinski and Brown a further point back. Dunlop parred the Devils Elbow and Beechers and joined Sutherland (two pars) in the lead two points ahead of Dembinski (par at Devils Elbow and a birdie at Beechers) and Dallat (bogey, birdie. Brown (bogey, par) was two points further behind. Sutherland birdied the Grove, parred the Lowlands and birdied Shirleys Cottage to win Division 1 by one point from Dembinski and Dallat. Dembinski with a bogey at the Grove, double bogey down Lolwlands and a birdie to finish came second. Patrick Dallat won the Gross with 43 Gross pts. Dunlop (bogeyed the Grove and Lowlands and parred Shirleys Cottage) and Brown (parred the Grove and birdied Lowlands and Shirleys Cottage) finished together with third place in the Division going to Brown with a better back nine.

 

Division 2

At halfway Bryan Logan (6) held a one point advantage over Connor White (10) and Stephen Mailey (10). Nathan Scullion (6) was another point behind. At the Devils Elbow Logan was a point ahead of Scullion with White ('Ding'at Piat) and Mailey two more points behind. Scullion, after a par at Devils Elbow, birdie at Beechers and a par at the |Grove was the new leader by one point from Logan (par, bogey, par). Mailey (pars at the Devils Elbow, Beechers and the Grove was another two points behind with White (a par at Devils Elbow followed by two pars a further two points down. |Scullion came home, par at Lowlands and a bogey at Shirleys Cottage, to win by one point from Logan (bogey at Lowlands and a par at Shirleys Cottage) in second place. Mailey (two bogeys) and White (two pars) finished together an other point behind and third place went to White with a better last three.

 

Division 3 

Jonny McIlroy (11) was leading by a point from Aaron Pattison (13) ('Ding' at Sanctuary) at halfway. Simon Crooks (13) ('Dings' at the opening hole and the Trout Hole), Graham Maretin (11) and Shaun Stewart ('Dings' at Lillyvale and Broadmeadows) were a a further two, three and four points respectively behind. Through Devils Elbow McIlroy had increased his lead to three points over Pattison ('Ding' at Piat) who was joined by Martin. Crooks and Stewart were another point behind. McIlroy parred Beechers and the Grove and was three points ahead of Martin (two pars). Pattison (par, bogey) was another point behind followed by Stewart (bogey, par) and Crooks (two bogeys) another one and two points respectively further behind. McIlroy bogeyed Lowlands and double bogeyed the final hole to finish the OVERALL RUNNER UP. In a close finish for the placings Martin bogeyed Lowlands and |Shirleys Cottage, Pattison (par at Lowlands, bogey at Shirleys Cottage) and Crooks (birdie at Lowlands and a par to finish) returned together with the same score. First place went to Martin with a bettert back nine; second place to Crooks with a better back nine and in third place Pattison. Stewart (par, bogey) fibished a point outside the placings.

 

Division 4

At the start of the Back 9 Alan Knox (16) held a slender one point advantage over Mark McClenaghan (18). Austin McGillian (27) was another two points behind with Trevor Galloway (23), David Rankin (22) ('Dings at the Trout Hole and the Sanctuary and James Gillan (17) ('Dings' at The Niuc and Longlands) were a further two, three and five points respectively behind. Approaching Beechers McClenaghan ('Ding' at The Fort) was leading by one point from Knox ('Ding' at Arthurs Seat). McGillian and Galloway ('Ding' at The Fort) were a further two points behind followed by Gillan one more point down. Rankin was another point back. McClenaghan bogeyed Beechers and the Grove and increased his lead to two points over Knox (double bogey, bogey) who was joined by an improving McGillian (bogeys at Beechers and the Grove). Galloway (double bogey, bogey) was another point behind. Gillan (par at Beechers, double bogey) was a further point back and Rankin (bogey, double bogey) two more points down. McClenaghan continued to lead and finished with two pars to WIN OVERALL In another close finish four points behind came Knox (bogeys at Lowlands and Shirleys Cottage) to Win the Seniors. McGillian (bogey, triple bogey) was another point behind and WON Division 4. Gillan came second, a point behind, after a birdie, double bogey finish. Third place went to Galloway after finishing bogey, double bogey another point down. Rankin (bogey at Lowlands and a par at Shirleys Cottage) finished a point behind the placings.
