Scott Johnston (3) opened briskly in the Robinson’s NISA Extra sponsored Stableford at Galgorm Castle Golf Club and held a one point advantage over Shane McQuillan (1) through The Maple in Division 1. Wilson McVeigh (3) and Mark Hamilton (4) were another point behind with Rod Lennox (4) a further two points down. Approaching the Lowlands a new leader emerged with Hamilton, after a par and two birdies, taking a two point lead over McQuillan (three pars). Johnston (two pars and a ‘ding’ which cost him the lead), McVeigh (three pars) and an improving Lennox (par, birdie, par) were another point behind. Hamilton continued to lead and finished with two pars to win by two points from McQuillan (par, birdie), Johnston (birdie, par), McVeigh (par, birdie) and Lennox (par, birdie) who all finished together. Second place went to Lennox with a better last six and with a better last six McVeigh finished in third place.
Jamie Sutherland (-1) won the Gross and Steven Penney (2) won the Seniors.
In Division 2 approaching the Devils Elbow Adrian Atkinson (5) held a two point advantage over Alan Knox (6) followed by Adam Martin (5), Colin Thompson (6) and Stewart Miller (5) another point behind. Ian McCully (5) was a further point away. Up the Grove Atkinson continued to lead after a run of par, birdie, double bogey. Two points behind came Martin (three pars), Thompson (bogey and two pars), Miller (bogey, birdie, par) and Knox (par, birdie, ‘ding’). McCully (three pars) was another point behind. Atkinson came home par, par to win by one point from a closing Martin (par, birdie). Two points further behind in an exciting finish for third place came Thompson (par, bogey), Miller (par, bogey), Knox (par, bogey) and McCully (two pars) and with a better last three third place went to McCully.
On reaching the fourteenth tee in Division 3 John Fitzgerald (9) was leading by one point from Dennis McCarroll (10). Jonathan Keys (8), Garth Wilson (8), Robin Deane (9) and James Campbell (10) were another point behind.. With two to play Fitzgerald (double bogey, bogey, par), McCarroll (two bogeys and a par) and Wilson (bogey, birdie, double bogey) were vying for the lead a point ahead of Keys (bogey, birdie, double bogey), Deane (par, double bogey, par) and Campbell (bogey, par, bogey). In a close finish Keys (two pars) and Fitzgerald (double bogey, birdie) finished together and with a better last six first place went to Keys. A point behind and in a very competitive finish for third place McCarroll (two bogeys), Wilson (two bogeys), Deeane (bogey, par) and Campbell (par, bogey) were level and with a better last three third place went to McCarroll.

Through The Niuc David Halliday (5) was leading by three points from David McIlroy (7) followed by Norman Nicholl (4) and Neville Neill (4) another two points behind. Down Broadmeadows there was a three way tie between Halliday who hit bogey trouble with a ‘ding’ at the fifth followed by a bogey at Broadmeadows and was joined in the lead by McIlroy (bogey, par) and Nicholl (par, birdie). Neill (two pars) was a point behind. In a very exciting finish over the closing three holes all four players – Nicholl (par, bogey, birdie), Halliday (par, bogey, par), Neill (two pars and a birdie) and McIlroy (bogey and two pars) – finished together and with a better last six first place went to Nicholl with Neill (better last three) second and McIlroy (better last six) third.
