Division 3 win for Hood
The Robinson’s NISA Extra sponsored Order of Merit continued at Galgorm Castle Golf Club and there was a very close finish to Division 3 with Jordan Hood coming through at the final hole to pip Michael Burton who had led from the third hole.
In Division 1 Ryan Addley was leading after the Trout Hole by one point from Graham Simms, Michael Greer and George Small with Ian McCullough and Paul Hughes a further one and two points respectively behind. Through Broadmeadows McCullough after three pars and Small (birdie, par, bogey) had joined Addley (bogey and two pars) in the lead. Simms (two bogeys and a par) was a point behind followed by Greer (bogey and two pars) and Hughes (two pars and a bogey) a further point back. McCullough birdied The Treasury and finished bogey, par to win by one point from Addley (birdie, bogey, par) and Simms (two pars and a birdie) with second place going to Simms with a better last six. Hughes (two pars and a birdie), Greer (two pars and a birdie) and Small (par, bogey, par) finished a further point behind.
Michael Greer and Shane McQuillan tied for the Gross.
Brian Sims (bogey and three pars) led over the Niuc in Division 2. Jonathan Keys (bogey, par, birdie, par) was two points behind with John Fitzgerald (two bogeys and two pars) and Andrew Robinson (bogey, two pars, double bogey) another point back. Two holes further on (at Broadmeadows) there was a change in positions with Keys leading by a point from Sims. Robinson and Fitzgerald were another one and two points respectively further behind. Keys bogeyed The Treasury and finished par, birdie to win by two points from Sims (two bogeys and a par). Fitzgerald (three pars) and Robinson (bogey, and two pars) were another point behind.
Michael Burton opened with a birdie at The Fort in Division 3 and followed up with a bogey and a par to lead, (a lead which he held right up to the final hole where he was joined by Jordan Hood), by one point from Hood who opened with an eagle three followed by two pars. Another point behind came David Brown (par, double bogey, par) and William Kennedy (bogey, par, bogey). Over Beechers Burton (par) increased his lead over Hood (par) to two points. Kennedy was another point behind followed by Brown a further point back. Hood upped his game over the closing three holes to finish birdie, par and another eagle to join Burton (par, double bogey, par). Brown (bogey, par, birdie) and Kennedy (par and two bogeys) finished three points behind. Hood won Division 3 with a better back six.
