The Robinson’s NISA Extra sponsored Order of Merit continued at Galgorm Castle Golf Club.
What a finish to Division 1 with only one point separating five players over the closing three holes. At The Maple Shane McQuillan (2) held a point advantage over Billy Cull (3) and John Rainey (3). Andy Moore (6) was another point behind followed by Paul Campbell (6) a further point away. Over Beechers McQuillan, after a birdie and a par, had increased his lead to two points over Cull (two pars), Rainey (two pars) and Moore (two pars. Campbell (par, bogey) was a further two points behind. A bogey at the Grove by McQuillan enabled Moore (par) to draw level a point ahead of Cull (par), Rainey (par) and Campbell (birdie). McQuillan (two pars) and Campbell (bogey, birdie) finished together a point ahead of Moore (two bogeys), Cull (bogey, par) and Rainey (par, bogey). First place went to Campbell with a better last six with McQuillan second. Third place was taken by Cull with a better last one.
Through The Maple in Division 2 Paul Steenson (6) was leading by one, two, three and four points from Alan Knox (8), Ian Stewart (8) (‘ding’ at twelve), Paul Reid (6) and Alan Proctor (6) (‘ding’ at The Maple) respectively. Approaching the Lowlands Steenson with three pars had increased his lead to two points from Stewart (bogey and two pars) and Reid (birdie and two pars). Knox (par, bogey, double bogey) was another point behind followed by Proctor (two pars and a bogey) a further two points back. Stewart parred the Lowlands and closed to within a point of Steenson (bogey). Steenson, after playing consistent golf throughout, ‘dinged’ the last. Stewart took advantage of this lapse as he finished par, bogey to win by one point from Steenson. Knox (two bogeys) finished in third place another point behind. Reid (bogey, ‘ding’) and Proctor, who finished strongly (too late) with two pars were a further point back.
Approaching the fifth tee in Division 3 Andrew Robinson (8) was a point ahead of Ken Gregg (9) and Raymond Strange (12). Another point behind came Gerard Lynn (9) and Kevin Duffin (11) with Andy McKibbin (9) a further point down. Robinson, after two bogeys and a par, was still leading by a point through the Grove from Gregg (par and two bogeys). Lynn (par and two bogeys) and Duffin (two bogeys and a par) were another point away. A further point back came Strange (bogey, double bogey, bogey). McKillop (two bogeys and a double bogey) was two points further back. Robinson with a par, double bogey finish held on to win by one point from Gregg (two bogeys). In an exciting third place finish Lynn (bogey, double bogey), Duffin (double bogey, bogey), Strange (par, ‘ding’) and an improved McKibbin (two pars) came in together and with a better last six third place went to Lynn.

Over The Niuc Keith McCullough (4) and William McKigney (12) were vying for the lead a point ahead of Brian McFall jnr (3). Peter Daly (4), Stephen (Black (4) and Ian McCullough (8) were another point behind. K.McCullough continued to hold firm at the front and was proving difficult to head. Approaching two from home K.McCullough after a run of par, bogey, par was one point in the lead from McKigney (bogey, double bogey, bogey) and McFall jnr (three pars). Daly (par, bogey, par) was another point behind followed by Black (two bogeys and a par) and I.McCullough (two bogeys and a par). K.McCullough continued to lead and came home par, par to win by one point from McKigney (two bogeys) and Daly (par, birdie). Second place went to Daly with a better last six with McKigney third. Another point behind, McFall jnr (bogey, par), Black (par, birdie) and I.McCullough (bogey, birdie) finished together.
