The May Medal sponsored by W.Allen Meats was played at Galgorm Castle Golf Club with the golfers playing on a cold but dry sunny day.
At halfway Joel McNeilly (5) and JJ McAnally (4) were vying for the lead a shot ahead of Paul Houston (5) and Keith McCullough (9). Eugene McKeever (4) and Adrian McCart (10) were a further shot behind followed by Stephen Sexton (14) another shot back. Through The Maple McNeilly had moved into a two shot advantage over Houston and McCullough. A further shot behind came McAnally, McKeever and Sexton with McCart another three shots down.
Up the Grove a new leader emerged. McNeilly, after a par, bogey, double bogey was overtaken by a shot by Sexton (par and two bogeys). Another shot behind came Houston (par, bogey, par) and McCullough (three bogeys). McKeever (par and two bogeys), McAnally (two bogeys and a par) and McCart (par, bogey, birdie) were down by another shot. McNeilly parred the Lowlands to draw level with Sexton (bogey) and finished with a par to Win Overall by one shot from Sexton (bogey) who took the Overall Runner-up placing. Houston (par, bogey) and McKeever (par, birdie) finished together another two shots behind with McKeever taking Division 1 with a better back nine. Paul Houston won the Seniors. Another shot behind came McCullough (two bogeys), JJ McAnally (two pars) and McCart (bogey, par) and with a better back nine A.McCart took second place.
The Gross was won by Jordan Hood (-3).
In Division 2 at the turn Graham Simms (12) was holding a one shot advantage over Ian McCully (12) with Philip Smyth (12) another three shots behind and Keith Barkley (11) a further three shots back. Approaching The Maple Simms was leading by two shots from McCully with Smyth and Barkley another four shots behind. Over Beechers Simms (par, bogey, triple bogey) was joined by McCully (par and two bogeys) in the lead. Barkley (par and two bogeys) and Smyth (bogey, par, double bogey) were another four and five shots respectively behind. Simms finished with two double bogeys and a par to win by two shots from Barkley (par and two bogeys), McCully (triple bogey, par, triple bogey) and an improving Smyth (par, bogey, par). Second place went to K.Barkley with a better back nine.
After the front nine in Division 3 sixteen handicapper Stephen McCabe was leading by two shots from David McIlroy (16) with Michael Barr (17) and Gordon Allen (17) a further one and two shots respectively behind. Coming to The Maple McCabe (par, double bogey, bogey) was still holding a two shot advantage over McIlroy (three bogeys) who was joined by Allen (two bogeys and a par). Barr (bogey, double bogey, bogey) was another shot behind. Approaching the Grove Mccabe was one shot ahead of McIlroy and Barr with Allen another two shots behind. McCabe continued to lead and came home bogey, par, bogey to win by two shots from McIlroy (double bogey, par, bogey), Barr (bogey, double bogey, par) and Allen (bogey and two pars) who finished together and with a better back nine second place went to Allen.

Entering the back nine Malachy Graham (20) was leading Jonathan Larmour (18), Ashley Doole (24) and Clifford Irvine (18) by two, three and four points respectively. Through twelve Graham was leading by two points from Larmour. Irvine was another point away with Doole (‘ding’ at twelve) a further point away. After Beechers Graham (bogey, double bogey, bogey) was joined by an improved Irvine (bogey, birdie, bogey) in the lead. Larmour (par, bogey, double bogey) was a point behind. Doole, after a double bogey, par and a ‘ding’ at Beechers, was a further three points away. In a close finish Irvine (bogey and two double bogeys) finished to win by one point from Doole (double bogey, par, bogey). Larmour (bogey, ‘ding’, double bogey) and Graham (two double bogeys and a ‘ding’) came in together another point behind.
