The Dallat Group sponsored Stableford was played at Galgorm Castle Golf Club.
David Halliday (11) and Philip Graham (Scr) were vying for the lead at halfway two points ahead of Vincent Miskelly (3). A further one, two and three points behind came Jonathan McNeill (1), William Kennedy (20) and Ryan Addley (7) respectively. Through The Maple Halliday was leading by three points from Graham who ran into bogey trouble at eleven and twelve. Miskelly had improved and joined Graham at The Maple. A further two points behind came Kennedy and McNeill (‘ding’ at The Maple). Over Beechers Halliday with two pars had increased his lead to four points over Graham (two pars) and Miskelly (two pars) who were joined by Kennedy (two pars). McNeill (birdie, par) was another point behind followed by Addley (birdie, bogey) a further two points back. Halliday finished par, par, bogey to Win Overall comfortably by four points. Only one point separated the other five players. Kennedy (two bogeys and a par) and McNeill (two pars and an eagle three) finished together four points behind with Kennedy taking the Overall Runner-up placing with a better back nine. J.McNeill won Division 1. Another point behind came Miskelly (three pars), P.Graham (three pars) and Addley (two pars and a birdie) with second place going to Addley with a better back nine.
The Gross was won by Jordan Hood (-2).
In Division 2 Norman Nicholl (10) was leading at the turn by two points from Paul Hughes (11) with Brian Mahany (13) another two points behind. What a finish lay ahead! Approaching the fourteenth tee Nicholl (‘ding’ at The Fort) was still leading by two points from Hughes with Mahany trying hard to close the gap a further two points back. Hughes with a par, bogey, birdie was the new leader at the Grove by a point from Nicholl (two pars and a double bogey) with Mahany (two pars and a bogey) another point behind but closing. Hughes finished with two bogeys and was joined by Nicholl (par, bogey) and Mahany (bogey, birdie) and with a better back nine first place went to Mahany who led for the first time. Hughes with a better back nine claimed second place.
David Stirling (11) won the Seniors.
Turning for home in Division 3 Andrew McKillop (18) was leading by three points from Tony Quinn (17) with Alan Knox (17) a further point behind. After The Maple McKillop (‘dings’ at ten and twelve proved costly) as his lead was reduced to one point by Quinn ((‘ding’ at The Maple) and Knox. McKillop after two pars was still leading by one point over Beechers from Quinn (two pars) and Knox (bogey, birdie)McKillop hit bogey trouble over the closing three holes (bogey and two double bogeys) to finish two points behind Quinn (birdie, double bogey, bogey) and Knox (two bogeys and a par). First place was taken by Knox with a better back nine and second place to Quinn.
In Division 4 after the front nine Trevor Galloway (21) was two points ahead of John McFarland (20) and William McKigney (23). Gareth Wilson (19) and Kevin Duffin (21) were a further three points behind. After two bogeys and two pars Wilson had improved and was vying for the lead with McFarland. McKigney and Galloway who ran into bogey trouble were a point behind followed by Duffin a further point down. Over Beechers and up the Grove McFarland after a bogey, par and a double bogey was leading by a point from Galloway (par, bogey, double bogey). Wilson (bogey, double bogey, ‘ding’) and Duffin (two bogeys and a double bogey) were another two points behind followed by McKigney (double bogey, ‘ding’, bogey) a further point away. McFarland had two further double bogeys over the closing two holes and was joined at the finish by Wilson with a par and a bogey, and with a better back nine Wilson took first place with second place going to McFarland. A point behind Galloway (‘ding’, bogey), Duffin (two bogeys) and McKigney (two bogeys) finished together.
